Ricky Norwood said he was left in a “deep depression” after the sex scandal that led to him being axed from EastEnders.

The actor, who played Fatboy in the soap from 2010 to 2015, was suspended for two months after a video leaked of him smoking cannabis and performing a sex act on Skype.

Soap bosses decided not to renew his contract and his character was killed off-screen in the Christmas Day episode last year.

The Celebrity Big Brother star told fellow housemate Renee Graziano that he had been “sold out” by a “particular woman”.

He said: “I went into deep depression, I didn’t want to leave my house.

“I got suspended from my job for two months; I held my hands up.

“When it came to the end of the contract, it was end of the contract. Normally I’d get a renewal.”

Ricky said he was ultimately “happy” with his time on the show.

He explained: “I was only supposed to be there for three months, I was there just under six years.”

Ricky faces eviction this week in the reality show alongside James Whale, Lewis Bloor, Samantha Fox and Stephen Bear.
