Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had us all believing in everlasting love, which is why it was a MAJOR shock when the divorce news hit.
Here’s 6 times they made us believe in true love…
1. When they casually got married at an office desk like it was no big deal

After Angelina and Brad tied the knot at a beautiful ceremony at their Chateau Miraval castle and vineyard in the South of France in 2014, with drawings from their six children all over Angelinaâs wedding gown, there was still the legal aspect of the marriage to sort.
Angelina told the New York Times: âThe ceremony was in France, but we had to do things legally in California. One day I was in the edit room, and (Brad) was doing something and an assistant said, âYou have to sign some papersâ.”
The two were given their licence and told the judge was outside. He popped in, married them at their desk – “Then suddenly we realised we were married, in the most unceremonial way possible.â
2. When Brad was happy to take orders from his wife on set

The two co-starred in By The Sea, with Angelina also directing the movie.
âItâs surprising how much I enjoy the direction of my wife,â Brad told V magazine. âI trust her with my life. Sheâs decisive, incredibly intuitive, knife-sharp and, might I say, sexy at her post.â
3. When Brad supported his wife through her double mastectomy

She has paid tribute to Brad for being so supportive through difficult times such as her double mastectomy.
After discovering that she was the carrier of the BRCA1 gene, Angelina decided to have a double mastectomy to cut her chances of breast cancer.
âI am fortunate to have a partner, Brad Pitt, who is so loving and supportive,â she wrote in the New York Times, adding: “Brad was at the Pink Lotus Breast Centre, where I was treated, for every minute of the surgeries. We managed to find moments to laugh together.
“We knew this was the right thing to do for our family and that it would bring us closer. And it has.”
4. When they loved being a big family

Angelina told Australian Women’s Weekly that the couple loved to stay at home with their children: âTheyâre six of the funniest people we have ever met in our lives. We love being home and we love being around them because they are just so entertaining.â
5. When they wrote each other love letters

Angelina Jolie once revealed that Brad Pitt would send her romantic handwritten letters when they were living apart because of work.
The Oscar-winning actress admitted that Brad would write her love letters when she was in Australia filming Unbroken, while he was shooting war drama Fury in London.
âHe was supportive from a distance, and it was quite romantic in a way,â she told Australiaâs TV Week.
âWe decided to be of that time, when we could imagine he was in the European theatre and I was in the Pacific theatre, and we wrote handwritten letters to each other that were very connecting for us, thinking of the people that were separated for months, if not years, at a time back then.â
6. When they got married for their kids

In 2012, after having ruled out a wedding before same-sex marriage was legal throughout the US, Brad indicated he would be open to marrying.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: âIt seems to mean more and more to our kids. We made this declaration some time ago that we werenât going to do it till everyone can. But I donât think weâll be able to hold out. It means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot. And it means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment.â
Each child had a role to play on their special day â eldest sons Maddox and Pax walked their mum down the aisle, Zahara and Vivienne were the flower girls and Shiloh and Knox served as ring bearers. The kids also helped write their parentsâ vows, and Pax baked the cake.
