Adele has revealed she turned down an offer to perform at the 2017 Super Bowl half-time show.

The British singer told the audience at her Los Angeles concert that she was asked to perform at the event but said no because it is “not about music”.

In a video posted online she said: “First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl.

“I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really — I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I did say no.”

She adds: “I’m sorry, but maybe next time, for my next album, because I’m going to do a dance album next time. So maybe I’ll do it then.”

Adele also denied rumours that she was pregnant and that she was going to announce the news at the Super Bowl half-time show.

She said: “I know I’m not Beyonce, I’m not a dancer but it’s a bit gruelling. I couldn’t be pregnant and travel this much.”

She joked that she was just having a “cheese baby”.
