Rickie Fowler had a pretty good weekend of golf, winning the Ryder Cup for the first time as he beat Justin Rose in the singles on the final day.

Fowler and Team USA thrived off a great team vibe against Europe, but when it came to the photos the 27-year-old was left stranded.

Team USA’s Twitter account showed Fowler some support, but it came as little consolation.

Don't worry @RickieFowler, all of America loves you. 😘 pic.twitter.com/4Teh1MkxJh

Fowler embraced it with the kind of good grace a small minority of American golf fans failed to muster at times this weekend.

The man looked positively inconsolable.
