A Kanye West fan has queued for more than 15 hours with no sleep in the hopes of bagging merchandise from the rapper’s first pop-up shop in the United Kingdom.
Kanye announced on Wednesday that 21 shops would open in various locations around the world to sell products tied to his latest album, The Life of Pablo.
The exact locations of each shop were announced 24 hours before they opened in each city, with the British venue located on Old Street in London.
Nineteen-year-old Carlos Rico, from Essex, who is a part-time retail assistant and clothes designer, managed to secure the first place in the London queue.
He told Press Association: “I’m a big Kanye West and a big fan of fashion so Kanye West and fashion in London, you’ve just got to go. I wanted to be at the front of the queue to make sure I get my stuff.”
Carlos said he was a fan of the controversial singer because “I just love his music and everything he stands for. Kanye is like Marmite, you love him or you hate him.”
The shops will open for three days and other venues around the world include South Africa, Australia, Canada, Singapore and more.
Kanye will start his North American Saint Pablo tour in Indianapolis on August 25 to promote his seventh studio album, The Life of Pablo.
