The 18-year-old has proved himself time and again since scoring a stunning brace for United on his debut in February against Midtjylland in the Europa League. He also scored in his first appearance in the Premier League and senior England team.

This latest display in a European Under-21 Championship qualifier against Norway earned him a man-of-the-match-award and thousands have taken to Twitter in appreciation of his performance.

Marcus Rashford is different gravy. What a player.

Many think his demotion to England’s Under-21s shouldn’t last long.

Incredible to think Marcus Rashford scored a hat-trick on his under-21 debut when the chances are he won't be playing for them again #ENGU21

There’s advice for United manager Jose Mourinho before Saturday’s Manchester derby too.

Rashford to start ahead of Martial on Saturday for me … #MUFC

— Jeff Coote (@jeff_coote1) September 6, 2016

Love to see Rashford start on Saturday, Martial or Rooney (unlikely) to the bench #mufc

Some started drawing comparisons.

Marcus rashford reminds me of a young Michael Owen, just not at his level but he will surpass

— blonde (@yungabri3l) September 6, 2016

Marcus Rashford is becoming another Andy Cole! #mufc

While others have words of caution…

Let's not overhype Marcus Rashford yet, manage him & others by letting them develop away from scrutiny of the senior team #ENG

— Agostinho Zinga (@AgostinhoZinga_) September 6, 2016

People going on about #Rashford like hes gonna be England's Messi. He got 2 deflections and a penalty. Needs to be calmed down a bit

— Dan Thorne (@dthorne58) September 6, 2016

Wherever you think Rashford’s future may take him though, there’s no doubt he must be enjoying the present an awful lot…

Has anybody pinched Marcus Rashford yet, he is living the dream! @MarcusRashford
