Manchester United prodigy Marcus Rashford played his first game for the England Under-21s this evening – and scored a hat-trick.
The 18-year-old has proved himself time and again since scoring a stunning brace for United on his debut in February against Midtjylland in the Europa League. He also scored in his first appearance in the Premier League and senior England team.

Many think his demotion to England’s Under-21s shouldn’t last long.
Incredible to think Marcus Rashford scored a hat-trick on his under-21 debut when the chances are he won't be playing for them again #ENGU21

Some started drawing comparisons.
Marcus rashford reminds me of a young Michael Owen, just not at his level but he will surpass

While others have words of caution…
Let's not overhype Marcus Rashford yet, manage him & others by letting them develop away from scrutiny of the senior team #ENG

People going on about #Rashford like hes gonna be England's Messi. He got 2 deflections and a penalty. Needs to be calmed down a bit

Wherever you think Rashford’s future may take him though, there’s no doubt he must be enjoying the present an awful lot…
Has anybody pinched Marcus Rashford yet, he is living the dream! @MarcusRashford
