You might remember David Luiz from his time at Chelsea. He won the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup while at Stamford Bridge, and was a bit cheeky as well.

The move took many by surprise, but it seems that Luiz was the one who forced the deal through, rather than Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG refused to sell David Luiz until he said yesterday he wanted Chelsea move. Fee £30m. PSG also turned down Chelsea offer for Marquinhos

With quick social media reactions like this, that is entirely believable.

One of Luiz’s potential new team mates all but confirmed the move on Twitter.

It’s almost unbelievable how much the Sideshow Bob lookalike has accumulated in transfer fees.
2011: £21m
2014: £50m
2016: £32m

And some have been critical regarding the incentives behind the move. Will Luiz improve Chelsea as a football team?
Chelsea's deal for @DavidLuiz_4 evidence that clubs look at players as brands as much a sporting talent these days. Changing times #CFC

On closer inspection, Chelsea seem to be adopting a hokey cokey approach to their transfer policy.
Chelsea:
Sign Matic.
Sign David Luiz for cash & Matic.
Re-sign Matic.
Sell David Luiz.
Re-sign David Luiz. pic.twitter.com/VDMsw6yiCH— Coral (@Coral) August 31, 2016
It seems that Sky Sports News were more excited than the fans…
Sky really over egging this David Luiz transfer. It's hardly 'sensational'.

Ouch.
it'll be sick having David Luiz in the prem again, he'll be able to show all the young English kids how not to defend

Meanwhile, others have a little more belief that this could actually be a good signing.
Whatever you think of David Luiz the player, and I have my reservations, he is a leader and a talisman + that is something #cfc have lacked

Welcome back to the Premier League, David!
