Jack Wilshere is on the search for first team minutes and, after a three-way battle for his signature between Roma, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, it’s the Cherries who landed their man.

It’s certainly a bitter-sweet moment for fans of the midfielder, who was once touted as the future of English football.

Hart and Wilshere shipped out by their clubs. Former future of English football.

Wilshere has been the butt of many jokes throughout his injury-laden career.

I reckon Jack Wilshere got eight minutes into a free ‘Teach Yourself Italian’ app before sacking it in and joining Bournemouth, wbu

But the move seems to make sense on more than one level…

Jack Wilshere has left Arsenal Football Club to join AFC Bournemouth. AFC here, AFC there. Elite mentality, Arsenal through and through.

Twitter is pretty confused about the whole thing. Is it really as big a step down as this guy thinks?

Bournemouth maybe a good choice in terms of style, but this is a big step down for Wilshere – no amount of ‘he has to play’ changes that.

On the one hand…

It has to be a sign of progress when three Palace fans are in a pub wondering why we bothered with Wilshere! #CPFC

But then…

Good luck to @JackWilshere be great to see him playing week in week out as he's a seriously quality player!! #DeadlineDay

Whether it’s a good move or not for Jack, there’s still a lot of love for the Arsenal man.

All the best mate, we still love you @JackWilshere

Good luck Jack, prove the doubters wrong!
