Green Day re-wrote the lyrics of their controversial song "Bang, Bang" to launch an attack Sunday on U.S. President-elect Donald Trump at the American Music Awards. During the live broadcast on ABC Television Sunday night, the band sang, "No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA." It was the most pointed barb against Trump on the annual show hosted this year by former Saturday Night Live comedian Jay Pharaoh and model Gigi Hadid. The winners of the American Music Awards are chosen by fans voting online. Singer Ariana Grande was chosen as artist of the year, beating out Beyonce, Adele, Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Selena Gomez Former One Direction member Zayn Malik, who is now a solo artist, took home the prize for best new artist trophy, beating out Shawn Mendes and Alessia Cara. Sting received an honorary award for his contribution to the music industry. "American music lit the musical spark in my young mind," the British artist said. "My musical soul is all American."
