No, that’s not a joke – but it is bordering on the ridiculous. Maccabi Tel-Aviv controlled their opening Europa League group game for 75 minutes, but were unable to do anything about Zenit St Petersburg’s incredible turnaround.

It was all going so well.

But somehow, Zenit managed to level the scores – and what a point it would have been. But they refused to settle for it…
