Imagine turning up at University, joining a football team and finding out you get to play alongside an ex-professional who made over 200 appearances for Manchester United.

Yeah, it’s tricky to imagine, right?

But that’s exactly what’s happened to those playing for Management, Law and Humanities of Sport MA XI at De Montford University in Leicester – after South Korean legend Park Ji-Sung was asked to turn out for a match against the Vice-Chancellor’s team earlier this week.

I think Ji Sung Park is a bit more agile than me 😳 pic.twitter.com/BOCaCuKHFd

The 35-year-old played for Man United between 2005 and 2012, winning three Premier League titles while playing for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side. He also captained South Korea at the World Cup in 2010.

But, after a couple of years in retirement, Ji-Sung has gone and donned his boots again, this time as a student. People just can’t quite comprehend the situation.

Imagine going to the football trials at your uni to see Park Ji Sung is there playing in your position.

Imagine: Getting on the bus to go play Uni football. You line up on the pitch and your being marked by Ji Sung Park. pic.twitter.com/p1oftKdkaQ

Imagine getting battered in the union on a Friday, turning up for footy sat and your oppo is Park Ji Sung. 😂 https://t.co/G7KN3MRKog

Amazing that Ji Sung Park plays for his uni team in Leicester 😂

— Matt Richards (@MattRichards28) October 14, 2016

But Ji-Sung is only at De Montfort for three months, while he studies sports management.

His course operates in three stages across Europe, so he will also spend three months in Milan and then Switzerland. Universities there, look out…

Anyway, it’s certainly left people on Twitter wondering what else he’s getting up to as he enjoys student life.
