Sydney\u2019s S&amp;P\/ASX index closed 1.9% higher. The Shanghai Composite was up 1.4%.  Seoul\u2019s KOSPI index gained 1.8%, and the TSEC index in Taipei earned 1.1%   <\/p>\n<p>Hong Kong\u2019s Hang Seng index is 2.1% higher in late afternoon trading, while Mumbai\u2019s Sensex is up 1.3%. <\/p>\n<p>In commodities trading, gold is selling at $1,889.90, down 0.1%.
