A couple who sing Sex On Fire made it through to the next round of The X Factor.<\/p>\n

The judges looked surprised when Tom, 24, and Laura, 29, from Liverpool, announced that they were to sing the Kings Of Leon track during their audition.<\/p>\n

But Sharon Osbourne ended up giving the pair a standing ovation, saying that the rendition was a \u201cpleasant surprise\u201d and gave her \u201cgoosebumps\u201d.<\/p>\n

Fellow judge Nicole Scherzinger said that the couple, who have been together for two-and-a-half years, have \u201cgood chemistry\u201d.<\/p>\n

After Tom refused Simon Cowell\u2019s attempt to split them up and go through on his own to the next round, the couple got a yes from all four judges and go through to boot camp. <\/p>\n

Another hopeful, Matt Terry, a 23-year-old former waiter from Bromley, told the judges that he was devastated after his girlfriend split up with him just two days before his birthday.<\/p>\n

When Terry, who looks like One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson, told how the heartache \u201cpulled me back a little bit\u201d Nicole replied: \u201cYeah, I know what that\u2019s like.\u201d<\/p>\n

But the two ended up flirting and the 23-year-old suggested that they go on a double date as his granny fancies Simon.<\/p>\n

Simon later met her and joked that she is a \u201cfuture girlfriend\u201d, while Terry wowed the judges after singing Stand By Me.<\/p>\n
