{"id":1614,"date":"2016-08-20T14:47:31","date_gmt":"2016-08-20T08:47:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/toptrendingnews.co\/is-ben-affleck-gearing-up-to-direct-and-star-in-an-agatha-christie-adaptation\/"},"modified":"2016-08-20T20:14:07","modified_gmt":"2016-08-20T14:14:07","slug":"is-ben-affleck-gearing-up-to-direct-and-star-in-an-agatha-christie-adaptation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/toptrendingnews.co\/is-ben-affleck-gearing-up-to-direct-and-star-in-an-agatha-christie-adaptation\/","title":{"rendered":"Is Ben Affleck gearing up to direct and star in an Agatha Christie adaptation?"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p>Ben Affleck is reportedly preparing to direct and star in a big screen adaptation of Agatha Christie\u2019s short story The Witness For The Prosecution.<\/p>\n<p> The news comes just days after the BBC announced filming had begun on a two-part television version of the thriller, which will star Sex And The City actress Kim Cattrall and Dad\u2019s Army actor Toby Jones.<\/p>\n<p><figure><img src=\"https:\/\/cdn.toptrendingnews.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/10023334\/1471700315-2c2b095889b1aa5a4b149246c79ce090-600x377.jpg\"\/><figcaption>Toby Jones and Kim Cattrall (PA)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p> Numerous Hollywood trade publications reported that Ben is close to signing a deal for the adaptation of the 23-page story, which is set in 1920s London and starts with the murder of rich and famous heiress Emily French.<\/p>\n<p> He will produce the film, written by Christopher Keyser, alongside his Good Will Hunting co-star Matt Damon, Jennifer Todd and the Agatha Christie estate.<\/p>\n<p><figure><img src=\"https:\/\/cdn.toptrendingnews.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/10023338\/1471700386-3cfcd0ab54f84172002b4aced38af2b0-600x442.jpg\"\/><figcaption>Ben and Matt (Paul A.
