Cold Feet is back and we are feeling all warm and fuzzy.

It’s been a long road – the 13 years off, rumours it was coming back, then the announcement that it was really truly happening, and then the fear… Will it be good? Will we be disappointed? Will they change too much?

So breathe a HUGE sign of relief. Episode one has aired and it’s all good!

Can't spot a single negative tweet… So rare. Especially for a show that's returning after 13 years! They've done so well. #ColdFeet

The main thing viewers were feeling was nostalgic.

Many said watching the show again was like seeing “an old friend” or “getting a hug”.

It's like meeting an old friend and you saw them yesterday #ColdFeet @ITV

— Nigel Webster (@funkybrighton) September 5, 2016

#ColdFeet it's like an old friend who's been away but as soon as you see each other it's like you've never been apart. 😆🌻

Sometimes shows come back and they're not the same but #ColdFeet is still as good as it was 13 years ago 💓

Watching #ColdFeet on @ITV , lost none of its charm , British TV at its best 😊❤️

But it didn’t just conjure up memories of the first five series, which ran between 1997 and 2003, as it also gave us a fabulous new plot.

The original group – James Nesbitt, John Thomson, Fay Ripley, Robert Bathurst and Hermione Norris – are reunited when Adam (James) returns after years spent working abroad, announcing he is engaged to someone named Angela (Karen David).

@ITV #ColdFeet love tonight's new episode so good to have it back #JamesNesbit is brilliant as usual

Loving #ColdFeet great start to this brilliant show @ITV

— Paula McCarthy (@maunsellb4) September 5, 2016

But will Angela and Adam last?

Some fans reckon Adam will actually end up with his landlady/neighbour, who has already been given tie-straightening duties.

Will Adam warm his #ColdFeet with the landlady ? 👣👣🙈

— Maureen j b (@Maureenbett3) September 5, 2016

Adam is going to end up with the landlady, yes? #ColdFeet

— Alexandra Brown (@alexbrownbooks) September 5, 2016

Oh it's just as good as it was before! 👏🏼 Adam is SO gonna fall for his landlady/neighbour! 🙈 #ColdFeet

— Sarah Evans (@Evans74Sarah) September 5, 2016

But whether he ends up with Angela or the landlady, it seems fans will still be mourning Adam’s late wife Rachel, who died in a car crash in the last series.

Rachel (Helen Baxendale) was referred to throughout the episode and in one extremely emosh scene, Adam waves and blows a kiss to the house they shared together.

So I quite like Adam's new fiancée. This feels wrong, like I'm betraying Rachel. #ColdFeet

— Roz Laws (@rozlaws) September 5, 2016

Oh no, I am getting a real lump on my throat hearing Adam talking about Rachel #ColdFeet

— Debra (@sunflowerdeb16) September 5, 2016

#ColdFeet ….The kiss and wave bye to the old house 😢 I'm not crying, my eyes are sweating, I swear down, honest pic.twitter.com/We6Bj2qBhw

But hey, the tears were totes worth it.

Thanks for joining us for #ColdFeet night, everyone! Great to see old friends again. pic.twitter.com/FvunKHzqSj
