It’s the stuff dreams are made of.

The qualifying rounds of the FA Cup offer up magical moments for the non-league player, and none more so than Spennymoor Town goalkeeper Dan Lowson.

When Lowson put the ball down on the edge of his penalty area, with the score at 0-0, it’s highly unlikely he thought he would be the one to break the deadlock.

But that’s exactly what he did, booting the ball up and over his opposite number.

Spennymoor advance to the second round of qualifying after their 5-3 victory over Radcliffe Borough, but remain five rounds away from the third round proper, whereupon Premier League teams begin their FA Cup journey.

It would probably take a meeting against one of those giants of the game to beat this moment for Dan Lowson.
