A singing couple gave the X Factor judges a performance to remember after getting engaged in the audition room.
Stephen, known as Silvar, got down on one knee after singing a duet of Justin Bieber’s Love Yourself with his girlfriend Sharna.
The two had been dating for six months, with Silvar explaining: “It is like a fairytale, true love.”
Having auditioned under the stage name He Knows She Knows, Silvar asked: “Can I just stop for one second?”
In front of judges Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne, he said: “Before we go I’d like the opportunity to ask this beautiful woman if you will be my wife.”
Producing a ring, the 28-year-old asked Sharna, 25: “Will you marry me?”
After she nodded yes, Simon said: “I want to see the ring. Oh my god, your hand’s shaking – come here.”
The music mogul gave her a hug and told her to “go and celebrate”, while Sharon admired the ring: “That is beautiful.”
Speaking after leaving the audition room, Sharna said: “I don’t think I’ve had a happier day in my life.”
The episode will air at 8pm on ITV on Saturday, September 10.
