Sherrie Hewson joked that she was going to party all night after appearing on her last episode of Loose Women.

Speaking at the TV Choice Awards, co-star Nadia Sawalha said the Loose Women would not be out late as they had the show in the morning, but Sherrie laughed: “Apart from me! I’m out until three!”

When the group were reminded that This Morning stars Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield stayed out all night after the National TV Awards, Nadia joked: “They’re hardcore drinkers.

“They’ll be out all night.”

Sherrie said there had been a lot of tears as she bid farewell to the ITV daytime programme after 14 years.

She said: “It was an emotional day. It was lovely. It was a fantastic day and I haven’t really taken it in yet, what happened. Maybe I will tomorrow.”

Discussing the success of the show, Nadia said: “It is still basically down to four women just doing that brilliant thing that women do which is talk in the most fantastic way that men can only dream of.

“And that’s what the show always will be.

Penny Lancaster added: “I’m not as familiar on the panel as all these girls but I’ve loved every time I’ve been on, and what I find is so refreshing is that I’m able to be as honest as probably if I was at home.

“It’s just a very relaxed atmosphere and you feel like they’ve got your back.”

Nadia also said she was thrilled with the new Loose Women regulars – Martine McCutcheon, Lisa Riley and Stacey Solomon.

She said: “They’ve all really fitted in. And we’re all so relieved – if you think of all the people it could’ve been… and we got three great birds.

“So yeah, we’re chuffed.”
