Lady Gaga made a surprise appearance at an east London club, treating fans to an intimate gig.

The superstar has been in town promoting her new single, Perfect Illusion, and showed up at Hackney’s Moth Club, a former working men’s club, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Her fans flocked to the venue after getting wind of a possible secret performance, where DJ Mark Ronson played a two-hour warm-up set before she came out on stage for just 25 minutes, at around 1.25am.

Gaga was introduced by drag queen DJ Jodie Harsh, who was dressed up to look like her, and the star then gave a rendition of her new single.

So, that actually happened last night. @ladygaga debuted her new single 'Perfect Illusion' on our stage! Great to see in the current climate that we can still have great nights out like this in London. Thanks to everyone who came to share it with us. #mothclub #Hackney #perfectillusion #nightlifematters #ladygaga

She also sat at a keyboard to perform a slowed-down version of Bad Romance, and then was back up and dancing to sing her breakthrough hit, Just Dance. She left the stage to Ronson’s 2015 track, Uptown Funk.

But as this fan’s video shows, not all went quite to plan, even in such a short performance …

Definitive proof that @ladygaga's main inspiration is Adam Lazzara. #ladygaga

This isn’t the first time Lady Gaga has made a surprise London appearance – in June 2015 she turned up on stage at 2am in Soho’s Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club after cancelling a Royal Albert Hall appearance with Tony Bennett earlier that evening.
