Ryan Giggs’ career was a long one, spanning almost quarter of a decade. The former Welsh international began his life as a professional footballer in the early nineties, in a time of boot scrubbing rather than selfies.

So it came as no surprise that the Manchester United legend viewed Snapchat with suspicion when a journalist asked him to have a go.

Polly James of Capital South Wales approached the 42-year-old former player, phone in hand, saying: “This is Snapchat, we can do funny filters with it. Can we have a little try?” to which Giggs groaned.

James managed to get Giggs to stay long enough to become a deer, but after prompting him to say hello, Giggs simply replied: “No.”

And that was that. But respect to Polly who at least managed to get a bit of footage with the former Wales international. Next up: an Instagram story with Sir Alex Ferguson?
