At 17, Martin Odegaard has already had more rises and falls than most players get through in a career.

The Norwegian moved to Real Madrid at the age of 16, but struggled to make an impact with the Spanish giants at youth level, let alone in the first team.

He’s been unsettled and has reportedly been looking for a loan move in the new year after he turns 18 and Fifa rules allow it.

Well, if any teams were watching him play for Real Madrid Castilla this weekend, they’ll be lining up to take him.

Odegaard produced an incredible run against Athletic Bilbao which, but for a scuffed shot at the end of it, could have resulted in a very special goal.

Maybe this is where things start to turn back in Odegaard’s favour.
