It may be notorious for home wrecking, but Pasha Kovalev insists he isn’t worried about the Strictly Come Dancing curse.

The show’s professional dancer got together with Rachel Riley when she was paired with him during the 2013 series, but despite her being married at the time, Pasha reckons he has no concerns that history could repeat itself with any of his new dance partners.

According to Mail Online, he said: “Rachel is incredible. She’s the most beautiful woman in the world. Nothing could come between what we have.

“I don’t even think about things like that. I don’t want to be with anyone else. I don’t worry about these things.”

This year, Pasha has been matched with BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty and in 2014 he won the BBC One contest with Caroline Flack.

Countdown maths whizz Rachel, who married university sweetheart Jamie Gilbert in August 2012 and announced their split in November 2013, has always maintained that Strictly did not spell the end for her marriage.

She’s previously said: “I don’t think there’s a Strictly curse, but it does serve as a magnifying glass that shows up pre-existing fault lines.”

Past love splits on Strictly have included Natasha Kaplinsky and Brendan Cole breaking up with their respective partners after dancing together, Flavia Cacace splitting with fellow pro-dancer Vincent Simone in favour of celeb partner Matt Di Angelo, and Joe Calzaghe dumping his girlfriend before getting together with dancer Kristina Rihanoff.
