It seems yellow was the colour of the day. And we aren’t talking about the canary yellow shirts of Alan Pardew’s men.
Referee Jon Moss dished out nine yellow cards during Friday night’s Everton v Crystal Palace Premier League match at Goodison Park.
9 – There were 9 yellow cards given in this match between Everton & Crystal Palace; the most seen in a PL game this season. Feisty. #EVECRY

That makes it the most yellow cards seen in a Premier League match this season and no-one can quite believe it:
How the hell was there 9 yellow cards in that match…can only remember one bad challenge ð¤

Meanwhile, Palace fans were left questioning the call from Moss after his assistant’s flag went up when Damien Delaney converted a second-half header and, following a discussion between the two officials, it was decided the effort should not stand.
That goal was never offside. Delaney was robbed!! #EVECRY

Palace got robbed. Delaney was onside

Iâm happy with a point away to Everton! Hurts a bit that Delaneyâs goal wasnât offside but itâs better than a loss

Also, Yannick Bolasie faced Palace for the first time since his move to Everton and the fact wasn’t lost among the fans:
Bolasie will be against his former club in the premier league Crystal palace tonight #PL #FPL #FPLSecerts pic.twitter.com/inHCijfyZ7

Imagine being Crystal palace there knowing you got upwards of £25 million for Yannick Bolasie

Palace’s winning streak, however, came to an end with a 1-1 draw.
Everton move up from fifth to third in the table, while Palace stay seventh.
