Springwatch presenter Martin Hughes-Games caused panic among the show’s many fans when he claimed he had been axed from the show, but those nature enthusiasts can now breathe easy.

Martin will indeed be back on our screens along with Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan when Autumnwatch returns to TV later this year.

Martin, who has presented Springwatch and it’s autumn and winter spin-offs since 2009, caused quite the stir when he tweeted:

The bbc commissioner Tom McDonald has decided my services no longer required on springwatch etc. Sad but it's been brilliant- thank you!!
