It was one of the less memorable transfers of the final day of the summer window, as Liverpool loaned Mario Balotelli to OGC Nice. That’s an indication of how far Balotelli’s stock has fallen: he no longer commands the attention he used to.
But maybe that’s a good thing – focus on the football Mario, and football will focus on you. It seems to be working already…

After scoring just one Serie A goal last season, it’s nice to see the Italy striker putting the ball in the net again.
And perhaps Ligue 1 is the perfect place for Balotelli to get back to his best away from the spotlight. If he can replicate this on the pitch, there’s no reason why he won’t be turning heads once more.
