At the turn of the year, it’s highly probable the average football fan hadn’t the foggiest who Marcus Rashford was.

But at a time when the football was turgid and the players uninspiring at Manchester United, the young forward has been a breath of fresh air at Old Trafford.

And on his EFL Cup debut last night against Northampton Town, Rashford did what he’s been doing for the past six months.

Some people enjoyed the unusual nature of the finish, as Marcus blasted the ball in from little more than a yard out.

Meanwhile, others focused on the hard work he’d done to get there in the first place.

That, kids, is why you don't give up on a loose ball!
Marcus Rashford has no right to get that, but does. Absolute star.

If you want to know what playing for the shirt & not the pay packet is it was Rashford running 40 yards to chase nothing & make it something

It’s looking a bit ominous for opposition fans…

If you've keenly observed, Rashford and Ibrahimovic have some chemistry and it's growing every time they are playing.

We thought we’d leave the last word to the man of the moment – will Jose Mourinho have to offer him a starting place?
