It wasn’t what Jose Mourinho wanted at Old Trafford.

Not only did Manchester United record a disappointing 0-0 draw against Burnley, the Red Devils boss left the dugout fuming in the first half of the game after referee Mark Clattenburg didn’t award a penalty in his favour.

Mourinho was furious that Matteo Darmian did not win a penalty when Jon Flanagan came across and it appeared his ire may have resulted in him being made to take up his new vantage point.

But Twitter, on the other hand, found the whole thing hilarious:

Mourinho sent to the stands but looks to have got the seat closest to the @ManUtd dugout 😂

It's probably Conte's fault that Mourinho's humiliated himself by getting sent to the stands at home to Burnley in a 3pm game

Mourinho was reportedly seen writing down instructions on paper and passing them down to the United bench.

Again, everyone found this to be amusing:

It can be hard to get a phone signal/wifi inside Old Trafford. Mourinho should use a carrier pigeon to send messages to bench. Or Mkhitaryan

For anyone wondering what Jose Mourinho's note said during today's game, it was just some tactical instructions pic.twitter.com/5O6t7Ht6Jj

The second half restarted with United’s manager curiously sat in the front row of the stand, next to the dugout, and he eventually ventured further back to take up a spot in the directors’ box for the bulk of the second period.

Twitter users got their kicks from the fact that Mourinho was unable to settle on a seat:

Now Mourinho is in the VIP section. He's had three seats in six minutes.

— Richard Jolly (@RichJolly) October 29, 2016

Hahaha Mourinho gets a VIP seat finally

Mourinho changing seat in the stands because he needs a better view 😂

Mourinho is now in the directors' box – he's moved seats three times in five minutes. It's more entertaining than the match!

Even Gary Lineker couldn’t resist throwing some shade:

Seems that José Mourinho, who was sent to the stands, wasn't the only one whose acca was screwed by Manchester United. pic.twitter.com/34oTJOBDL7

Poor Mourinho.
