Friday Night Football makes its second appearance of the season today, with Chelsea hosting Liverpool in a clash between two of the Premier League’s newest and most exciting managers: Antonio Conte and Jurgen Klopp.

So we thought we’d take a look at the two bosses before the clash, and how better to do that than to let the men themselves do the talking?

First up, here’s Antonio Conte on winning and losing.

“I find the peace in myself after the game when I win.”

“I consider defeat to be a virtual state of death.”

Here he is on management.

“I always compare my work as a coach to that of a tailor, who makes a suit out of the material available to him.”

And finally, on his project with Chelsea.

“I hope there’s a small flame flickering here that can hopefully grow into a blazing inferno.”

Next, it’s Jurgen Klopp on facing Bayern Munich.

“We have a bow and arrow and if we aim well, we can hit the target. The problem is that Bayern has a bazooka.”

What did he make of Borussia Dortmund signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan?

“Mkhitaryan fits us like an arse on a bucket. What he offers is exactly what we need.”

And here he is on… hair.

“Yes, it’s true. I underwent a hair transplant. I think the results are really cool, don’t you?”

(Steve Paston/PA)

What does he make of Arsene Wenger?

“He likes having the ball, playing football, passes. It’s like an orchestra. But it’s a silent song. I like heavy metal.”

And finally, when Mario Gotze left Dortmund.

“He’s leaving because he’s Guardiola’s favourite. If it’s anyone’s fault, it’s mine. I can’t make myself shorter and learn Spanish.”

Fingers crossed these quote machines are on form tonight.
