Liverpool have taken the three points up for grabs against Premier League rivals Chelsea, with a strong, steady performance against a lacklustre home side at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool won with a lovren volley into the ground and a blue moon of a wonder goal from Hendo, mad. Excellent all round performance #LFC 👏🏻

Dejan Lovren started off proceedings scoring from a free kick in the 17th minute, proving Liverpool’s first-half dominance with his first goal in 64 games.

Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp couldn’t contain his glee at the defender’s goal, leaping out of his seat and pumping his fists.

Jordan Henderson certainly silenced his critics with an absolute screamer to take the score to 2-0 in the 36th minute.

Thibaut Courtois was left powerless against Henderson’s precision strike, as the ball sailed into the top corner, leaving fans stunned and elated.

If it’s not a contender for goal of the season, we’ll eat our hats.

Even Alan Shearer took to Twitter to congratulate the Reds’ captain.

What a stunner! @JHenderson won't hit many better in his life than that one! #CHELIV #matchdaylive @premierleague

The second half was a more even affair, with Diego Costa bringing the score to 2-1, giving the home team a chance to draw equal.

Conte made a triple change to put Chelsea firmly in attack mode with eight minutes remaining as Victor Moses, Cesc Fabregas and Pedro were all introduced. It wasn’t to be, however, despite fans’ hopes on Twitter for a last-minute reprieve.

This game has last minute David Luiz goalazo written all over it. #CHELIV

A poor Chelsea corner in the last 90 seconds failed to produce a second goal and secure a draw for the home team, who looked dejected as they waved to fans after the final whistle.

@ChelseaFC we lost but we still have 33 matches to win and make it right so let's focus on the next.. Goodnight #CHELIV

Needless to say, Jurgen Klopp was pretty pleased with his team’s performance.

It seems Liverpool are having a good run against London teams so far this season, having taken taken seven points from three trips already following on from an opening weekend win at Arsenal and a draw at Tottenham.
