What a difference a year makes…

This time last year, former Corrie star Georgia May Foote was preparing to put her best foot forward in the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom, and her romance with Giovanni Pernice was just a twinkle in his eye.

But fast forward to the weekend that the 2016 version of the BBC contest launches, and Georgia has accepted that the fairytale is well and truly over.

Fairytales arent real. Even if someone makes you think they are for a moment.

She gave her Instagram snap the heartbreaking caption: “Fairytales arent real. Even if someone makes you think they are for a moment.”, as fans rushed to comment telling her how sad they were at news of her split from Giovanni.

A week ago, Georgia tweeted the news of their split.

Thank you for all your support for us during and after the series. I love you all very much. @pernicegiovann1 💕 pic.twitter.com/Z8cAoCQNil

She also pleaded with people to be nice about the sad time she was having.

Nothing i ever said about my feelings to gio were fake before people start. I still love him very very much. But things change. Please…

Be respectful to me at this time by not saying awful things. This is a hard time for me 😘

She later added that even Strictly sparkle hadn’t saved their romance.

Dancing didnt work this time 💔

However, there were no hard feelings as Georgia still managed to wish the class of 2016 luck.
