Former N-Dubz singer Dappy has admitted he went off the rails when he first started making money.

The star, who avoided jail last year after he carried out a nightclub attack while serving a suspended sentence for a petrol station brawl, admitted that having disposable income went to his head.

He told ITV’s This Morning: “Me acting the way I wanted to act when I was at number one or had consecutive number ones, sometimes I would go a bit off the rails. When you’ve got that money on the table and you can buy what you want.”

Last year he settled a dispute with the taxman when HM Revenue & Customs withdrew a bankruptcy petition against him, saying a tax debt of around £140,000 had been paid.

The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant, whose real name is Costadinos Contostavlos, found fame in the group with his cousin Tulisa Contostavlos and Fazer, aka Richard Rawson, which they started as children.

They split in 2011 but Dappy hinted a reunion is on the cards when he told the show: “There are many great things coming in the pipeline, I’m not going to say exactly what.”
