EastEnders fans will be happy to hear that Claudette Hubbard might not be leaving Walford forever.

The character, played by Ellen Thomas since last year, is set to leave the soap as the actress focuses on the theatre.

But it sounds as if soap bosses aren’t planning to kill her off – and she hinted that she might be back in the future.

According to reports, Ellen told BBC Radio London: “The story at the moment is that she’s off on one of her trips and she’s staying with her son and she’s off.”

Talking about whether she would appear in Albert Square again, Ellen said: “She has family on the Square – so of course.

“You can’t keep her away from her son and her granddaughter. You can’t. You just can’t.”
