DIY SOS was back on Tuesday evening, ready to help disabled athlete Scott make his home suit his independent attitude.

Viewers were enthused for the return of the ‘Big Build’ special, but it was marred slightly by a teaser section that revealed more than viewers wanted.

At the very beginning of the programme, the final look of Scott Jones’ bedroom was shown, robbing viewers of part of the ‘big reveal’ moment associated with the iconic show.

#diysos love this programme but it's all around the wrong way, I don't want to see the result at the start NOOOOOOOOOOO #diysosthebigbuild

Don't need to watch #diysos now as they showed the final result about one minute into the programme. Why do shows do this?

— Steve (@TheBezza77) September 20, 2016

So, #DIYSOS , looking forward to it. but why the spoilers these days?
Don't show us end product. I can wait an hour!!

— Kris. always Kris.. (@superkrispydj) September 20, 2016

Have #diysos always done the annoying 'let's shows clips of finished result' before actually starting the show?!

Once the moaning had finished though, viewers began to focus on the incredible story of Scott, a 17-year-old athlete who was striving for independence.

Scott’s list of sporting achievements is long and illustrious, including a gold medal in the shotput from the Disabled World Championships.

However, in order to reach his ultimate goal, his living situation had to improve.

He needed an accessible kitchen, a wet-room to shower in and a place to train to reach his goal of achieving a Paralympic gold medal in his chosen sport of rowing.

Scott’s story, as well as the awe-inspiring volunteers hit everyone right in the feels.

I'm not the most sentimental of people, but couldn't fail to be moved by that episode of #DIYSOS. #PeoplePower

How great would the world be if we all came together and helped each other like this. Definitely a going to cry at the end #DIYSOS

As usual, Nick Knowles and his team delivered a stunning new home for Scott and his family, including a fully equipped gym and a sewing room for his mum – much more than the bedroom revealed at the start of the show.
