Manchester City’s 3-1 victory against West Ham sets up a mouth-watering derby against Manchester United next month.

But fans are worried Sergio Aguero could face disciplinary action after an apparent elbow on Winston Reid went unpunished.

Reid was left requiring treatment after the clash but referee Andre Marriner did not appear to see the incident.

Wonder if Aguero will get a ban🤔 Costa certainly would've! pic.twitter.com/P6E6ydukYV

But there’s a chance the Argentinian striker could face retrospective action which would keep him out of City’s first derby with Manchester United on September 10.

Some, including footballers Stan Collymore and Robbie Savage, believe the punishment might happen:

Calling it early. Aguero to miss Manchester Derby after the elbow.#CallCollymore

Clear elbow from Sergio Aguero into Reid's face. I'd be shocked if that's not retrospective ban. No Manchester derby for Aguero? #MCFC #MUFC

Although, a few think otherwise:

Seriously Aguero should not be banned for that, if he does it'll be because of that amount of people that want him to be

aguero should NOT GET BANNED FOR THAT

Should it happen, the three-match ban would also see Aguero miss the games against Bournemouth and Swansea City.
