The Chicago Rose Maggie McEldowney has been crowned the 2016 Rose of Tralee.
The 27-year-old Chicago native was brought to tears when the announcement was made.
Her grandmother, Brigid O'Neill, was born in Co Derry.
After an unexpected interruption during last night's show the Rose of Tralee part two went smoothly.
Best of luck to this cailÃn throughout the year. Long may she reign.
