Chance the Rapper has given an update on his forthcoming collaboration with Kanye West – and while he says a couple of songs he definitely wants on the album are finished it will still be a while before we get to hear the full thing.

The joint project was first hinted at during an interview with Zane Lowe following the release of Coloring Book, where Chance revealed the album’s name. Now in a conversation with Power 106, Chance let us know how it’s going – as well as dropping some info about Beyonce’s birthday and getting drunk at the Grammys.

“It’s definitely far from done. It’s something that gets brought up in conversation every once in a while,” Chance told The Cruz Show. “We definitely have at least two songs I could say I know would be on Good Ass Job.”

The Chicago native went into why the album, titled Good Ass Job, has that name. “The Good Ass Job, that’s something that’s just been a dream for me,” he said.

“I’m a Chicago kid, so I’m a super Ye fan, and I used to watch all the, you know, YouTube videos and, like, him speaking. And I remember just watching a video a long time ago where he would go on, he was explaining, you know, how you have your College Dropout, and then you go back you have your Late Registration, and then you finally get your Graduation. And after you graduate, you gotta go get a Good Ass Job.”

Pretty solid reasoning, and Chance explained that he was expecting Good Ass Job to end up as a Kanye album, only for 808s & Heartbreak, Watch The Throne and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy to be his next releases.

Given the acclaim the pair’s recent collaborations, Ultralight Beam and All We Got, received, Good Ass Job has a lot to live up to.
