It’s been 13 years since Outkast last put out a studio album, but Gucci Mane might just have confirmed a reunion.

So Gucci Mane did a feature for outkast. We getting a new song or new album or what? 🤔🤔🤔 pic.twitter.com/JW8xE3lj2i

Gucci’s Snapchat is generally a great source for entertainment, but in saying he recorded a verse for Outkast he may just have created hype that can’t be lived up to.

i'm pretty sure gucci mane just announced a new outkast album and i can't explain how much joy i feel typing that

Who's gonna be the one to tell Gucci that Outkast doesn't record together anymore?

Andre 3000 and Big Boi have seemingly been happy to focus on their solo careers since Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, with the occasional feature from 3 Stacks enough to send fans into a frenzy (see Frank Ocean, Vince Staples, Travis Scott) while Big Boi has put out three projects since their last collaborative effort.

The Atlanta duo can lay claim to having one of just nine diamond certified hip hop albums and their emergence in the 1990s helped put Southern rap on the map – although that wasn’t without its obstacles – while in 2016 Atlanta is arguably the home of hip hop and the ATLiens’ influence is still felt.

All we can do is hope there really is some new material.
