Everton had a pretty bad time at Stamford Bridge, after helplessly watching Chelsea net five goals, two of which were in the space of a minute.

The first goal of the evening match came from Eden Hazard in the 19th minute, after he shot the ball from a questionable distance and angle, yet managed to guide it past Maarten Stekelenburg’s fingers and into the net.

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE GOAL BY HAZARD!!! #CHEEVE #CFCLive

Unreal, always been a massive Hazard fan. Best player in the league when he's at the top of his game.

When Hazard is on fire, no one stops him. What a player! Amazing to watch

Then, just 23 seconds after the players resumed play, Marcos Alonso made it two for the Blues, slipping the ball between Stekelenburg’s legs after a low cross from Pedro.

Diego Costa delivered the third blow of the first half, netting his ninth goal of the season, minutes before the half-time whistle blew.

Costa is the man #CFC ⚽️👌

While the first half at Stamford Bridge may have dominated by the hosts, Everton still had all to play for in the second. We thought.

That was until Hazard struck again, with the fourth goal of the evening, within 10 minutes of the second half, crushing the hearts of Everton fans.

For every day I love being an @Everton fan, there's another three where it's just painful….

A shell-shocked Everton may have thought it could not get any worse, but with 65 minutes gone the hosts netted their fifth and final goal courtesy of Pedro.
